Kalinin Ihor Yevgenievych was born on 26 July 1966 in Donetsk, Ukraine. He is a former military pilot. After his discharging Kalinin graduated from Kievskyy National Technical University with specialization in «Publishing and printing trade». From his very childhood he takes up art. His main trend is graphics: mainly drawing ink, crayon, water colors.

«He is known as a person of poetical and romantic nature. This nature is evident in his graphic artworks and poems.


The author’s method rests on peculiar modeling of really existing and fantastic images. He designs architectural monuments, ensembles, civilizations which in his imagination are connected exceptionally with bygone epochs. Attentive look of the author glides over the time, he interprets architectural monuments as witnesses of human genius, labor of thousands of people who lived in different countries, as eternal light of life besides as connection of different times and peoples, as understanding of human friendship and beauty.


The other feature of creative manner of the author is that he conveys so to speak spirit of bygone centuries, historical and art monuments not only with the forms that are phantoms of his imagination but with their detailed elaboration. Depiction of all details witnesses not about the wish to be precise in trifles just to reproduce what he has seen, but about visual vividness of images, about poetry and decorative way of author’s thinking. Author’s sense of form is evident in representation of architecture, in its proportions, in lightweight spires and turrets looking upwards, and the ornamentality becomes apparent in picture of patterns composed of outlined contours, their filigree finish.
